#36Possible. She could have set him up. People dont think logical when money is involved, lottery implies millions when people see the word, he didnt even get half a mil, not to mention taxes and if he got a lump sum even less money, life changing but certainly cant live the rest of your life off of it.Comment -

#37I realize not everyone thinks logically but still, they do all this knowing that he may not have anything on him? All I am saying is unless they somehow knew before hand that this guy would have a large amount of that money inside the home why would you go through spending life in prison for what he has in his wallet? Most people with half a brain would figure all of that money is in a bank some where and even getting his bank card does no good because you can't withdraw enough money to make it worth it without kidnapping him. Unless they were told he was holding a big chunk of it in the house which in that case they would need someone on the inside for that information. And if not, why shoot the guy? They were wearing masks, no one can identify them so why shoot him unless he could identify their voices? Like I said before this was a hit, they went there to make sure he was dead.Originally posted by jtolerThats why I said maybe they had to leave earlier than expected because of hearing something or people closing in, I mean somebody had to hear the shotgun blast and probably yelling on top of it. Everybody knew he won the lottery so knowing where he lived was easy to find out. They probably watched him, knew there was just a female and kids, but they probably also did get some money, I dont see in the story where it says they didnt.Comment -

#40All possible but have to realize most plans never go exactly according to plan, gun could have went off, they could have panicked and shot him, could have been frustrated with him screwing around with them about the bank card after he threw his pants to them and the card wasnt in there. Alot of different scenarios, but again the article didnt say if they did or didnt get any money they very well could have. And where I grew up if you were getting jacked it didnt matter if you gave the car or money over they were shooting you anyway, the stick up kids didnt want to be stressing out over retaliation so they let bullets fly regardless. Very cold blooded, I have a feeling this one will be solved somehow.Originally posted by unde0087I realize not everyone thinks logically but still, they do all this knowing that he may not have anything on him? #43You can relocate after winning 450K, but it's not as easy as you think. After taxes, it's like 300K if that. Then you have to decide if you want a new home, car, savings, whatever.
It's not like he won 80 mil or anything.Comment -

#48This isn't the first time this kind of murdering for lottery money shit has happened. This evil bitch murdered the guy, texted his mother he was "fine" and then buried the dude in her backyard! I gotta agree, you win a decent cash jackpot, you shouldn't have to reveal your identity to any fuk'in body! The damn lottery assholes pretty much give the thieves and killers your picture, address, where you work and what kind of job you do. Moral of the story, you win some big cash and live in a bad neighborhood, get the fuk out.... quick!

#49I saw a couple of different episodes on this story, it was very cold blooded. Yeah the states do all of that for publicity, hey look what we, Georgia just did, just paid out a big lottery check look at us. Now come buy your lottery ticket so you can be just like him.Originally posted by mikejammThis isn't the first time this kind of murdering for lottery money shit has happened. #58Impossible to know...but that turd on the ground did something to the Russian guy prior to him start shooting the vid.
My wild guess would be, that he probably was trying to steal something from the Russian dude and got his ass kicked.
Now the Russian guy is just trying to keep him on the ground in fetal position til the cops arrive.Comment -

#64Update 11/05/2015: After several months justice has finally been served. The man who attacked my girlfriend and I back in July finally went to court. He signed a plea agreement to plead "no contest" to disorderly conduct and DUI.
His sentence is as follows:
-Serve 10 days in jail
-Pay a fine of $2800
-Be forced to take an alcohol counseling class
-Unsupervised probation for the next 3 years, during that time he is not allowed to consume or possess alcohol.
-Have an ignition interlock device installed on his car.
-If he violates his probation he will do 6 months in jail.
If you ask me, he got off easy...but at least something was done. I do not feel bad about exposing him as I hope this video will help warn new and old riders of how quickly a bit of road rage can get out of hand.

#67The reason is actually really stupid:Originally posted by jjgoldWhy do some states require it has to be public?
Lottery officials say it’s important public information to ensure the drawings are transparent. Publicizing the winners' names drives sales and that having their names released ensures that people know there isn't something fishy afoot, like a game rigged so a lottery insider wins. When players see that an actual person won, it has a much greater impact than when they might read that the lottery paid a big prize to an anonymous player.
I'd understand applying this rule to a winner of 100K...but not fkng 100mil and upComment -
