If you want to make real money with Oil, look into trading XBR (Brent Crude or UK Oil) and XTI (West Texas Intermediate Crude or US Oil) versus the US Dollar, on Forex exchange.

That's what I do.

Forget Oil stocks --That's kid's game.

You can also look into trading Oil CFDs (Contract For Difference).

A CFD is a tradable instrument that mirrors the movements of the asset underlying it. It allows for profits or losses to be realized when the underlying asset moves in relation to the position taken, but the actual underlying asset is never owned. Essentially, it is a contract between the client and the broker.

CFDs provide much higher leverage than traditional trading. Standard leverage in the CFD market begins as low as a 2% margin requirement.

The reward could be much greater than in buying stocks, but it also carries a greater risk.


But as far as buying the oil goes...I wouldn't touch it just yet. There are still way too many uncertainties with this commodity/market right now. Looks like we still haven't found the floor...but we're very close.

The entire World is gonna feel it, Chucky...I think another recession is imminent in US, but obviously it's not going to be as bad as in places like Russia...nor will it be as bad as it was in 2008.

That's what ive been doing,have some shares in Polaris, theyd gone up to about 120 dollars a share but recently just got my quarterly report and they dropped to under a 100 dollars a share.

I don't think there is such a stock, Chucky. But if you just want to short US market, buy the Direxion Daily Large Cap Bear 3X Shares (SPXS). It is pegged to the S&P 500. Theoretically, it is supposed to go up three times what the S&P loses in a given day. So if the S&P is up 2%, the SPXS fund loses roughly 6%. If the S&P is down 3%, the SPXS gains roughly 9%.

Of course you can always play with a Euro vs US Dollar pair on Forex...by buying Euro and automatically shorting USD...but I wouldn't do that just yet, cos European economy has its own problems right now.

I went fully invested this morning when the market was down almost 4%. Correction had just about reached it's number. Sideways and up from here. Watch end of year be very close to start of year. ~ 15% correction as of this morning will be gain by EOY.
