The line is "fishy" because of public perception. Seattle has been to two straight Super Bowls and they have been plastered on national television for the past three years, including this year when they came on strong at the end of the season. Carolina, though 15-1, hasn't sold the public yet that they are as good as their record. A betting line isn't established based solely on the talent of the two teams involved. It's established based on trying to get an equal volume of bets on both sides. Right or wrong, the public is more sold on Seattle because of perception. Every longtime gambler knows this, yet always wants to insist that lines are "fishy" for some odd reason.

Minnesota is Seattle lite. They are a very physical team. Now Seatlle has to go across country for a 1:00 game against a physical 15-1 team. Can get the line -1.5 At 5d with reasonable juice. If Seattle wins, the books will just have my money.
