I've been through that too. In my brother's case, I can't understand why someone would continue to drink knowing he would die soon.

I had an uncle in the same situation except he realized he would die so he got help and was able to quit. His body eventually healed after he quit drinking and he lived to a ripe old age.

Any older than that and it takes a harsher toll on your body which effects life expectancy...
