Someone explain this to me....

before the games are played... do all universities already get a pre selected amount? I thought the university only gains $ when the team wins? The losing team shouldn't receive anything.

When the fuk was this changed?

It all depends on what bowl game you go to. Most bowl invites require the school to sell an allotment of tix. If you don't sell your tix, you can lose money as a University. I believe most bowl games lose money after paying for expenses. Teams that go to the major bowls will receive TV revenue that gets distributed to the conference after expenses. Example, the Sugar Bowl pays out ~$20 million per team. Ole Miss' share will eventually go to the SEC to be shared after OM expenses are paid. If OM oversells their tix allotment they can make more profit.

Too many penetrating bowls. Now they are watered down. Need one or two SEC vs Pac 12 games.

I think this year is an outlier, but college football has brought this on themselves
