TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested in San Antonio early Thursday morning after fighting at a bar and then striking a bicycle patrol officer, according to multiple reports that cite authorities.
A San Antonio police spokesman told ESPN's Mark Schlabach that Boykin was still being held at the San Antonio City Magistrate on Thursday morning and hadn't yet posted bond. The police spokesman said no official charges had been filed against him yet.
TCU is playing Oregon in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday.

Give me a damn break! First rule of thumb in the game of life. You don't swing at a cop. What's there to learn? He isn't some helpless victim here. He did something completely stupid. Coach Patterson seems to be a pretty good role model to me.

Monumental stupidity and selfishness. He sneaks back out after midnight curfew and headcount. Ninety minutes later he's fighting bar bouncers, then gets MORE aggressive when cops arrive. Yes I see all of your points. I'm saying that I hope he learns from this. I do feel sorry for him and others. Not just blacks, but all of us. This world is full of deception and chains.

To the people who have made somewhat of a life for yourselves. Great job! I run a car dealership and can say that since I make over 6 figures so have I. But you know what, I don't. I thank God that I am seeing the truth in life. And this situation is part of it. The man most likely had a poor up bringing and was fooled into thinking he was all that because of his football skills. This is a lesson where he can say, "whoa, there is more than football in life". Maybe he thinks about being a better role model for someone else now. Maybe being in jail he is able to open his eyes and thank God for the opportunity he has. Maybe this experience propels him to greatness.

You know, he probably started swinging because he felt disrespected -- you know how that goes with these guys. All I am saying, and the numbers certainly back me up, is that blacks who play college football are increasingly getting into more and more trouble. Most of these players could not get into college if not for football. They are simply too ignorant to pass the required tests. They are, in a word, STUPID, and their actions prove this week after week. You cannot dispute this.
