#950 game suspension and he's not eligible for free agency in 2017 , so they would have him for 1 2/3 seasons
and gave up nothing.Comment -

#10shows the difference between reds and cardinals. they fired jockerty and red hired him. My best friend is in charge of the reds opening day parade and knows the castelinni's. what a penetrating joke this org. has became. they promoted jockerty and gave one of the williams kid the title of general manager. I guess castellini is trying to do a sell off so that he can make a profit when he sells the reds.Comment -

#12Bad move. They need starting pitching. And need power hitters...preferably guys under 40 that don't get injured half the yearComment -

#14did they announce a suspension length? and as far as I can see he's arb eligible this year than a FA in 2017. so really they may only have him for 2016, though you'd think they'd resign him as a FAComment -

Chapman, 27, will enter the season with five years, 34 days of major-league service. A full year of service time is 172 days. Thus, Chapman will need to be on an active roster or disabled list for at least 138 days this season in order to become a free agent next winter.Comment -

#18Adding a dominant closer for no blue chip prospects is not a bad move.....They still need what you said but don't get how adding Chapman is a bad moveComment -

#21I'd be real surprised if they didn't move Andrew Miller now. He was a top closer, and isn't going to want to take a backseat now. Betances can close just as well. Move Miller, get the pieces you need, deal with just having a really good 8th/9th inning duo instead of a fantasy version.Comment -

#23I guess it is a plus to have Chapman but they are giving away prospects to add to what was the most reliable part of their team? I would say a good SP or a slugger was what they needed. They have sluggers that are heading to the down side of their careers and starting pitching that is even more unreliable. Don't really see this meeting the top needs of the Yankees going forward.Comment
