You are confusing the NBA with the NFL, which legally is defined as entertainment and not a sport (unlike nba). All of which means it is perfectly legal for the NFL to fix their own games while that is not true of any of the other major north american sports.

They were up 3-1 in the series prior to this game. You have to remember the Clippers have no interest in trying to win by 15, they are just trying to win. As humans they are likely to let up at the end of the game. Happens all the time. Its not their responsibility to cover your bet.
