I was at a cookout back in the late 90's and some drunk guy was lighting and throwing M-80's(The old school powerful kind) and he held one too long and right when he threw it, it exploded. Seen a white flash and a mist of blood. He was laughing and shaking his hand and blood was flying everywhere. His thumb was gone along with most of his index and middle fingers. Some girl(I guess his GF or wife) found the thumb and put it in a Styrofoam cup with ice and took him to the hospital.

After they left, everyone was still in disbelief of what had happened. Someone that knew him said he was a really good lead guitar player and made his living playing in a bunch of local bands.

We looked for the rest of his other fingers, but never found anything.

My only gripe is that it seems that club that he wears adds length to his his ability to block passes. Seems like an unfair advantage.

i saw a photo.... exposed bone, pretty much blew all the meat off the two fingers, looked like a straight up skeleton hand..... wish i could remember where i saw that photo.....

he'll eventually need to have his thumb and middle fingers amputated. this is, at best, a band-aid solution for now.

there's still quite a bit of dead tissue on each of those fingers, especially the middle one which is horribly bloated and infected.

obviously he hopes it'll hold-up for another year or two max so he can try collecting a few more paychecks, but no one's going to give him much.
