#9D Wade is probably NOT a top 50 player. More like comets with an explosive and glaring tail that passes through. Was great for such a short period of time, injured a good portion of the time, or hanging on someone else's coattail the rest of the time. Had such a small window of dominance and greatness to be considered an all time great. Hurt too much or just gave to many small glimpses of what he could be.Comment -

#11Championships are insanely overrated in the NBA. The sport has been dominated by dynasty teams like no other. The 90s and 60s especially.
Look at the guys who never won rings:
Reggie Miller
Charlie Barkley
Elgin Baylor
Stockton and Malone
Maravic
Ewing
Nique
Gervin
Alex English
Most of those guys are top50 players, handful are top25.
Every single one is top 100 easily.
Not to say Wade wasn't great, sort of like pre injury Derrick rose before Derrick rose. Just think he will be remembered as being better than he was.
Having said that, he actually ranks very well in most all time advanced metrics. Better than I would have thought.Comment -

No. You're so off base its not even funny.
Championships matter the MOST in the NBA in order to rank players. The truly great players tend to win a ring in the NBA as it is a game that can be dominated by an individual. We've seen this in the last 15 years with guys like Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, LeBron, Wade winning or appearing in pretty much every NBA Finals.Comment -

#24I put him somewhere between Karl Malone and Allen Iverson. Neither won a ring either. So many variables to consider. But I think we could all agree the guy has something, especially at crunch time, that we all want in a player. All teams need a collection of stars, nobody wins without a sidekick.Comment -

#33I think Shaq was the Pippen on that game. Or maybe he was the Horace Grant! Pre-knee issues Wade was pretty bad-ass. He's played so long with it people forget that early on people debated if Wade was better than Lebron. He never was but he had the killer instinct we liked. Lebron was still passin on the last shot.Originally posted by Mr KLCI'll put him there with Scottie Pippen. Great talent that won titles with a bigger superstar (Shaq, Lebron). #34Wade one of the greatest scorers we've seen when he was prime, he was unstoppable, was gonna score or get fouled, great motor and somewhat undersized as far as today's shooting guards. He's still good, only thing he never perfected was the 3 but not really a knock on him, he probably should have won MVP in one of those years he was putting up crazy numbers.Comment -

#35He should've won in 2009 when he played with a bunch of stiffs and took them to the playoffs. Averaged like 30-8-5 that year I think.Originally posted by jtolerWade one of the greatest scorers we've seen when he was prime, he was unstoppable, was gonna score or get fouled, great motor and somewhat undersized as far as today's shooting guards.
