it's not like the eagles offense was the reason they were up in the game. if they kick deep, that fumble is recovered at like the eagles 35 yard line as opposed to having to go 75 yards or whatever it was with no timeouts. i just don't get it.

Yeah, I questioned that heavily BEFORE the kick.
    Funky game all-around.
    Tom looked exhausted.
It will not get much better the next few weeks for the Pats either.

Still would have been nice if LaFell caught that slant with like 28 seconds left.
He had running room. Might have had 2 shots at the end zone.

Another question - the onside kick that an Eagle batted the ball out of bounds. Why wasn't that an illegal bat like the one in the end zone earlier in the year where the defensive player batted the ball out of the back of the end zone so it would not be caught?

There was no call on the bat earlier in the year.

But everyone came out and said it should have been a clear penalty. That's a good question.

It doesn't matter for Patriots. Outcome of the game was decided before kickoff by NFL.

Hardest rule of NFL betting is taking a division opponent getting points at home after they beat the other team at their house earlier in the season. Obviously situations come into play though, like the Rams falling off with a new qb then Arizona comes to town and is laying points, but Bucs at Falcons were the same teams and Bucs still a dog at home. It's shouldn't be that hard but it is. We're all squares and we can't bet on the damn Bucs!

You are allowed to bat the ball on kickoffs, not a penalty.

Think they were trying to give themselves a shot at recovering the ball instead of going all in on a defensive stop. Eagles ended up getting the first down but then coughed it up...tough call to make
