They gave up years and year of finances, 60 million is going to have to be in the five years after the deal expires so they are locked into paying greinke for 11 years. they also gave up the 13th pick in this years draft because greinke rejected the dodgers qualifying offer

As a fan, I don't give a fukk about what the owners are willing to shell out for a yearly payroll. That being said, the Dbacks have been good about putting the money back to the team. They have an extra $80 million to play with per year for the next 20 years thanks to their new tv deal. It's just too bad they didn't pay some market research group before they unveiled those hideous unis.
