Regarding clemson defense lately, they didn't seem to try that hard. They looked pretty good against notre dame and fsu. Not saying unc can't put it to them but it really doesn't seem like they were putting 100% effort all themtime against scrub teams.

Well, there's the fact that Carolina's offense is better than FSU's. That helps.

Game is a toss up, both capable of putting up big numbers. If UNC were to win it wouldn't be a huge upset.

I'll take Sparty because they actually beat the other best two teams in the Big-10 not playing in this game, Ohio ST and Michigan and not to mention Oregon (OOC)!......Iowa didn't play them and quite frankly although the Hawkeyes are a scrappy bunch and kudos to them for going undefeated against a soft schedule, no way in hell they would have gone unscathed if they had Mich ST schedule.

I don't think Clemson's defense is anything special. As a previous poster noted, they've been giving up yards and points to inferior competition lately, and they were fortunate to jump on Notre Dame early when they played because once Kizer (making first road start after taking over for Zaire) got comfortable, Notre Dame also started moving the ball on Clemson without a ton of resistance. I think Clemson has a better defense than North Carolina, but certainly not elite. I lean towards UNC and the points.

As for the B1G matchup, I just think Iowa is a team of destiny. They are not the most talented unit, but they are certainly talented enough to topple Sparty. They are playing with a chip on their shoulder, an "us against the world" mentality... and I think it carries them for at least this next game. After that, the competition will take a major step forward (assuming BCS playoffs), but I like Iowa to at least cover if not win outright this week.

As of now, I like both dogs in these games.
