After all the hoopla, even a special vote, for what Thanksgiving "Special" should be bestowed upon sbr members on Thanksgiving day by SBR administration, the "masses" (about 80 or so members) voted for some sort of sportsbook special, over a gimme payout in blackjack or yet another programmed poker tourney.....
Herein we start to see the briliance of SBR's move; as while the BJ and Poker trny were known variables, no word was given by SBR as to what exactly the book special might be......
As most sbr members don't play poker, and as most sbr members who've given blackjack in the sbr casino a spin only to see five consecutive paired face cards lose to 21, the "masses" voted for the unknown, hoping for some great shit to come from it.....
Once the vote was in and sbr members' thanksgiving fate sealed, sbr announces the "Special"..... here's where sbr members started to think they'd voted for the proverbial "pig in a poke," as a one pt "special line" was given on a crappy bears game, but a WHOPPING 3 PT "special line" was laid out for the woeful cowboys......
given the 1 pt line on the bears was really akin to nothing, SBR brass knew the masses of degenerates at sbr would pile on the cowboy line like lemings going over a cliff like a bunch of dumbasses (a group of which I am a member, I should mention).
This was a great move by SBR, as it saved a ton of pts by not giving them away in blackjack, and a decent chunk of pts (a few hundred bucks worth) by not having a poker tourney. Instead, it wiped out many thousands worth of debt to the book on paper by having people pile on the pathetic cowboys, and their pathetic crownie-baking leader.
If SBR brass had only had one size bigger balls, they would have pulled the limit on bet amounts, and the degens at SBR would have shipped even more pts back to the house, erasing possibly tenfold the amount of debt it was about to as a result of its play on the Dallas line..... (If sbr had the insight that most cowboys followers have, that romo was going to throw in the towel and get his wing jammed up again, it most assuredly would have raised that limit and possibly erased half of its debt on paper in the span of a few hours.)
