Iowa fan reactions to if the coach earned his pay or not.
Highest paid state employee.
Had some bad years since 1999.
"Was he worth it?" is the question to Iowa fans.

No! Cash rent per acre is to high in Iowa. All tax money goes to the liberals at the University . But it puts football on TV. And it's a mega million dollar business. Look at the Les Miles sit. 15 mil. For leaving.

..........his son poised to take over in a few years.
Iowa has had two head coaches since the late 70's....Hayden Fry and Kirk Ferentz, and spawned a plethora of great others to other schools.
The 1983 IOWA staff ranks near the top as the greatest staff in CFB history..........even a few players on the team itself went on to become head coaches at division one schools.
All in all, IOWA one of the best football programs in the country, on numerous levels.

No Big Ten school has produced more NFL draft picks since 2011 than IOWA, and the current team is loaded with future draftees..........amazing considering IOWA recruits less than 7-8 four-five star HS recruits per year.
Many of these 4-5 star recruits are overrated though, just because they come from big schools in high populated areas.
The brand of football played in IOWA high schools is really underappreciated by most outside the state, unreal the number of quality players the high school ranks produces per capita, both on the college level and in the NFL

He should take a pay cut. Land is cheap in Iowa. He already owns half the corn fields around Iowa City.

Hawks need to regroup dramatically next week against Rutgers to prove they are indeed legit national title contenders this season.

Rutgers? Wow that's a tough game they are having to regroup. Wait until they play a ranked team and they could be blown out of the house.

iowa is small place, not surprising they have small town mindset with their football team. Don't want to challenge themselves, they just want to play Bean Stalk elementary every week and gain respect. Doesn't work like that. ferentz is a genius for fooling those idiots out there

Iowa obviously always competitive but do they go on a different direction? I do not know why they locked into a long-term contract with this ex security guard and ex gatekeeper.
Iowa has to only lose one more game this year to salvage their season

He's not worth that much money. But, if you just compare Ferentz to any other coach Iowa can get he's the best available. Would be interesting to see if Kirk could've done good things at an SEC school.

They will still make a bowl because there are to many bowl games. It might be the kit-kat bowl or something tho.
