I think if Trump runs Independent, he gets 2nd place. 30% of the Republican base look like they are with him, no matter what. I truly believe that he will get double digits of the Democratic base also. Alot of Midwestern moderate Democrats will take him over Hillary. The only question is if he would take enough of the vote to keep Hillary from getting the 270 needed in the Electoral College. If Rubio gets the nomination, and Trump goes independent, this becomes a mess because Rubio can potentially take a chunk of the minority vote from Hillary.
