Flint Firebirds players quit

After being down 3-1 to the Oshawa generals and coming back to win 4-3, ALL of the coaches of the Flint Firebirds were fired.

Apparently, the owner of the team didn't like how his son was being used (he plays on the team).

In response all of the players walked up to the office, threw their jersey's down and quit... Including the owners son!

Anyone else hear about this story??

JJ, as the NHL mod I'm disasppointed.. Where do you think your Crosby's and McDavid's come from. This is why you can't cap NHL games. You don't understand the process..

i've heard some crazy stories about players (and their parents) suing a coach/organization of a junior team for not receiving enough playing time and thereby jeopardizing their future career in the pros, but nothing like this

Sounds like they are going to Flint to do an "investigation".. They should have Michael Moore banging on Rolf Nilsons door..

I remember the Tri-Cities Americans of the WHL doing this back around 1990; the players refused to play a game because they didn't like an assistant coaches treatment. The fans came expecting a game and had to turn around and go home.
