What cab company? Stay away from Nellis, Desert. Only drive for Yellow cab if you are serious, or maybe Whittlesea. I drove for Vegas-Western for years, part of the Charlie Frias company. Don't go there either. Good luck. You have to get a Sheriff's card, so I hope your background is clean.Comment -

Nellis cab is the worst. Expect to work with some real hustlers/scammers who have been been around a long time and worked for most of the cab companies already. Learn to long route. I.e, when leaving the airport take the interstate loop around vs paradise. Cabbies have to now compete with knockoff Uber at McCarron as they just got a license to pick up there. google scam las vegas cabdrivers to learn all the long haul dirty tricks. You will need them to work for those scammers. I remember Nellis guys going down the freeway with the meter on with no one in cab burning their tips on the meter. You don't book a certain number on your meter you don't drive. Vegas is different, you don't just rent the cab and keep the rest. You have to share the meter with the Cab company. Talk to Fish if you are serious. He drove for Yellow for a while.
One more thing, before you drive you have to spend a day with the Taxi Authority being trained. One of the last things they do is show you the real pictures of crime scene murders of cabbies. They want you to know the cold facts. Look for a picture of the guy i shared my cab with Joe. He was murdered for 28 bucks in the Mary/Swenson area. I was robbed twice. I had to testify against a guy who robbed me for assault, strong arm robbery and kidnapping. He got 18 bucks from me. Keep your twenties and most of your money in your sock. Have mostly fives and singles in your wallet, never keeping more than forty in it. Have fun and keep safe.Comment -
