As good as he was in the first two rounds, his stock really plummeted with how bad he is in the field. You can't botch two routine grounders in pressure situations like that. His bat is not nearly good enough to compensate for awful fielding.

And if the Mets are going to move forward on pitching, they need sure handed guys in the middle of the infield

It's the wrong way of looking at it IF you think he blew the Series for them. That game 4 gaffe still wouldn't have stopped the Royals onslaught, the Mets wouldn't have been here w/o him and he was also very likely to come back down to earth at the plate after that unconscious run during the playoffs. Murphy, Duda and Wright were all bad in the field in the World Series. The Mets should be looking for replacements at all 3 positions (preferably guys that can hit and field).
