Mattingly is a weak manager Marlins are a team on the rise bad move for them
        -10 wins for Mattingly
Only Collins is a bigger negative -13

Glad I am not a Marlins fan. Managing means managing personnel. He had two of the best starters in baseball, that needed no motivation, and didn't get diddly-squat out of the guys that did. Big budget, plenty of "stars", no success. How did that make him desirable?

That dodgers team was garbage. They had no talent whatsoever besides the 2 pitchers. No manage was going to win the world series with that team. He was in a bad spot. If I were him I would never have pitched those guys b2b in the playoffs.

They spent a lot of money for no performance, that is what Mattingly was supposed to get out of them. Peace.

"To me, I'm going to have high expectations. I'll tell players on a daily basis, I expect them to win every day."

I guess that's a switch from his old philosophy. It used to be that he only expected them to win everyday that Greinke and Kershaw were pitching. Way to raise those standards, Don!
