This is a great time of the year and this match up is as close to a coin flip as any.

It really boils down to this....

1. Will the young guns for the Mets allow the big stage to affect them? This is the million dollar question so that still remains to be seen.

2. Can you trust the likes of Cueto and Volquez? Well they helped get em to where they are now. (Hard to Believe) lol

3. Experience will play or should play a factor. Royals have it. Mets don't BUT have veteran players on the Mets team. Advantage? Royals in my mind.

4. Tonight's match up, Hatvey has to have the edge here. Not sure why Volquez is getting the start.

5. Coaching, I give this edge to Mets.

6. Defense? Royals

7. Pen? Royals

8. Power? Mets


The ex factor for me is #1. To be honest we just really don't know how they will respond.

I took Mets in game 1 only because I think Harvey is in a good spot over Volquez.

I agree with you on the #1 question. I went with Harvey, like the last series, everyone on the Royals like they were on the Cubs. Should be a great series, let's just hope the Mets dont get caught up in just making it.

And any manager who says "well it was harveys turn last series if it had went another game, so he gets to start game 1 now" definitely DOES NOT have the managing edge.
Collins is HORRID, but these 2 both cross each other out like Tatddy said. I'd actually give the managing edge to the royals because of how Yost manages the small-ball stuff.
I expect the royals to be running aggressively this series, as you get few chances at big innings vs. any of thee Mets starters.
