Man, I just don't know. This is one of the most unpredictable teams in a long time. I really think they could finish the regular season anywhere from missing the playoffs to the #1 seed. I'd say let's see how the first few weeks go, not just record-wise but just watch carefully, and then go with it. If they're good, they could be really good and get better. But if it's bad, it could devolve and fall apart and get worse. So hard to say. Obviously Rose's health is a wild card. How he gels now with Jimmy. How Noah and Gibson take to the bench-team role. Is there an answer at SF? Will McDermott improve and contribute. On paper, the frontcourt is a 4 or 5 headed monster and the backcourt could be one of the best. But will the D be a mess under Hoiberg? First year coaches can go big in either direction. Obviously Kerr worked last year. Doesn't always work that way. I'd take a wait-and-see. Preseason showed much of the same; some really good and some really bad.

In the frontcourt they are, for sure. How many teams can bring a Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson off the bench. And then there's Bobby Portis, a really promising looking rookie, but he may not find much playing time behind Gasol, Mirotic, Noah, Gibson. On the wing, not as much, ? marks after Butler. Can Snell and McDermott can step their games up. Can Mirotic play some 3. Dunleavy out for awhile.
