the problem with this analysis is that as the HEAD COACH, HE IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW.... It's his f'n job -- and responsibility -- to know what is going on in his program.
Pleading ignorance is still the better way to go, but it shows a lack of control over his program; and a lack of control over his assistants and their actions. As their boss, it's Pitino's duty to instill in his assistants the proper way to recruit; and any failure on their part is a failure on Pitino's part as well, as he is the person in control of them.

the funniest thing to me is that this is even news.... this practice is rampant and has been since I was on aTm's campus during the mid 80s and UT's campus during the late 80's......

I would wait until the full story comes out before making judgement. Novel concept I know. It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the girls were there as strippers (some girls at least), but the paid for sex part is the part in question and unless I'm wrong, 4 of the 5 unnamed sources didn't confirm that part of the story. Unless there is some actual proof that McGee provided money to the recruits then this isn't near as damning.
