#4it's called books putting out a bad line. they do that from time to time.
for this game, they were way off. this game opened at -180/+170. that's crazy.Comment -

#12If they would of come out with a line like -130 Cubs everyone would of jumped that. Syndergaard has been dominant at home all year. #14Perhaps it's because everyone knows his arm is falling off. He's closing in on 100 innings MORE this year than his career high of 156. They could shut him down, but it wouldn't matter as he's not getting another start this season anyway.Comment -

His second outing in L.A. was a pretty rough one for him. He limited the damage but had to get out of some sticky situations. Let's just say he didn't look like the DeGrom we are used to seeing. But either way great price for who he is facing.Comment -

#19He was telegraphing his pitches or Mets stole the signs. Yankees used to have a high powered camera looking at catcher's fingers and transmitting the plays to manager. That's why you see the manager grabbing his balls, pulling his ear lobs and itching his elbows before every pitch.Comment -

#20How would the batter have time to look over at him and receive the info? He would have to do it during the pitcher's windup.Originally posted by pavyracerHe was telegraphing his pitches or Mets stole the signs. I think Arrieta is finally hitting a wall after a long season, or finally regressing to the mean, nothing more.Comment -

#21His velocity was clearly down last start, lowest since April. He was throwing 93/94 instead of 96/97. It was noticeable. He still has secondary pitches to adjust and be decent, but clearly he had a tired arm. Whether he can regain or adjust, maybe, but the innings are taking a toll at the wrong time. It's not regressing to the mean.Originally posted by Ralphie HalvesHow would the batter have time to look over at him and receive the info? He would have to do it during the pitcher's windup.

#22He can look at the first base or third base coach from the corner of his eyes. There is at least 10 seconds between signaling by catcher and actual pitch throw. Usein Bolt can run the length of a football field in that time.Originally posted by Ralphie HalvesHow would the batter have time to look over at him and receive the info? #23It's way less than 10 seconds, but I can see what you mean by looking at the base coach. Still can't see it happening that way.Originally posted by pavyracerHe can look at the first base or third base coach from the corner of his eyes. because the ball is going through a more dense medium, it requires more energy to attain the same speed and movement as a ball thrown in warm air. Now you know!
