...or with another team. How many times has Kershaw been to the playoffs and never got to pitch a World Series game??? It's just a shame to be the ace in the rotation to come to not even close to moving forward. All Kershaw can do is stay at home, sitting on a lazy boy, drinking a Fanta and watching the San Francisco Giants win more World Series Championships. Kershaw is just pitching for nothing. It's time to leave L.A and follow wherever Greinke will sign next year. If Greinke stays with L.A again, good luck.

How can Kershaw sign with the Giants when he has another 3 seasons under his current contract before he can become a free agent?

Is this in the real world or fantasy?

Kershaw's still under Dodger control for 3 more seasons at which point he can opt out. if he doesn't opt out, he'll have an additional 2 years on his current deal. Dodger ownership is already on record stating they'll do everything possible to make sure he spends his entire career with the organization. and when Greinke opts out this offseason, the Dodgers will pay him whatever he asks.

He can ask to be traded, unless he has a no trade clause.

Asking to be traded is rather different from signing.

Kershaw to Dodgers: "Yes, I'd like to be traded to the Giants."

If they don't resign Greinke they'll replace with another ace Ryu coming back not this upcoming season but probably the next Julio Urias will probably be up for the playoffs....in other words it's coming. Starting Anderson in a playoff game was a joke
