FWIW (nothing, actually, but...) I believe the Cub are 1-0 in sudden death play-in games (1998).

More importantly, historically speaking, this game has never been played before. There is no history. And there is literally no one on this team, and maybe in the entire organization, that has ever been involved in a past Cubs playoffs. All new players, new manager, new GM, new owners, heck a new scoreboard. I fail to see how anything that happened 7, 12, 17 or whatever years ago has any relevance whatsoever.
