Believe Draft Kings will make poker and possibly even sports betting legal in the U.S.
Stars already has sports betting on one of their platforms

Disagree. Becoming more socially acceptable everywhere. Scott van pelt even has his own show now that speaks about gambling a ton. Sports center now runs spreads and over unders on the bottom ticker feed. Soon enough..

Stars is considered a "bad actor" in this case so why would AMAYA offering wagering or DFS lead to a repeal of the UIEGA? Makes no sense and I'd give it 1% to even get close to a similar scenario in the next 5 years.
$$$ talks in Washington and right now there is way more on the side of demons like Adelson than any DFS or poker site. Seems like at least a few more years of business as usual.

Here's the link. It's just a few "highlights" of the Q and A.
Check out highlights from Phil Hellmuth's appearance on Reddit's Ask Me Anything (AMA) celebrity channel.

Hellmuth on the Future of Online Poker in the United States
"Legalized online poker is coming; 100%! It is simply a question of when...Amazingly, one person has stopped legalized online poker: one person! Mr. Sheldon Adelson: and he spends $100 million every year funding politicians...However, David Baazov (poker big hope) is fighting hard, and effectively, for legalization. I'm hoping for full legalization in California, and then many of us, and the experts, believe it will spread across the USA."

When they drafted the safe port act/UIGEA the NFL specifically lobbied to have fantasy sports excluded from the wording of the legislation. Fantasy sports has always been the gateway to legislation for all gambling across the US. The main opponents of any legalization have always been the sports leagues, physical casinos and "moral" aka haven't been paid yet objectors. Sports leagues see how much profit potential there is in DFS/gambling and just have to wait for the right time to pass it through. NBA will lead, followed by the other minor leagues followed by the NFL and finally college sports (whether the ncaa will be around or not at that time who knows?).
This is the period where online stuff is quasi legal and is a transitory phase where the physical casinos can establish online presence before the other players enter the market. States need revenue and gambling is a more palatable solution than the legalization of marijuana.
My best guess is 2-3 years until formal regulation of DFS, then 2 years after that formal regulation of all gambling.

Way too optimistic estimate in my opinion...changing the status quo usually requires enough people to care for their politicians to care, and that doesn't seem like it's any closer than when the UIGEA passed. If anything, it might be farther away with the poker mainstream fad having burned out a bit, and with the quasi/sometimes-legal solutions making it so most people aren't seriously inconvenienced if they want to play poker. I'd like nothing more than for people to wake up and demand that freedoms are preserved because they're rights (instead of having to directly affect people first), but that's simply not the mentality of most people in this country. Best we can hope for is avoiding regulation of DFS imo (why the hell would we need it anyways?) and perhaps in the future people will care enough to argue for others' rights.

This is the guy that promoted UB despite numerous scandals so let's remember that. Ol Philly probably just positioning for possible future endorsements.
Baazov will not get a CA bill passed until after the '16 elections at best. None of the politicians out here are backing a guy like him who is still under investigation in Montreal for insider trading before the poker stars deal became public. That would be political suicide.
