I played one because it was a free $5 entry they gave me. There was like 400,000 people playing in the tournament. Why compete against that many people? It is exactly like playing the lottery. I'm cashing today plus got julio jones tomorrow to try and crack top 500(optimistic for jones) for the big one plus others. My sleepers were stevie johnson, ameer, kelcee, eifert, palmer and austin sefarian jenkins who was drafted in just .8% of teams but scored 31. These first weeks are the time to make money because of the sleepers and their prices being way off, like austin's, Ameer abdullah's and palmer's price. Just a couple different picks from my other teams and I'd be looking pretty good for a shot at first with julio still to play but just wrong combination. Plus Doug martin shit the bed, should of had kelcee or austin there.

I cashed out of my Draft Kings account completely yesterday. I lost around 100 bucks and I didn't care for the layout of the site compared to FD. Add in the commercials, the sharks with 300 entries alone in tournaments, I see the vig on the 50/50 stuff (not good). I actually liked the baseball one one, perhaps I am not as far behind the sharks in that sport because I have cashed 4 or 5 times out of 10 entries..yet in the NFL this weekend which I had a total of 10 entries going, I couldn't beat anyone....so I'll probably just use it for golf and MLB when bored.Comment -

I would think gamblers would find these kinds of things naturally though without all the fake bs commercials or some poster on a forum. I could be wrong though and paying a forum or a poster to advertise would probably be a reasonable tactic. Personally I don't really care I just try it and if I like it... I like it.
DK has a nice logo and branding but the interface needs work, basically I like 5Dimes bland layout compared to fancy GUI of Bovada. It is supposed to be business oriented on these websites, not a party. it reminds me why I like CBS over ESPN as well.
The commercials with the fake chicks, sweating out a million bucks (which doesn't happen IRL/ or to the casual degen -x middle aged punting white guy), and the guys that are in some fantasy keeper league for the last decade. And yes, more than the top 5 generally get paid unless you do smaller contest. But for the majority of the big contest, like this weekends, it was top 125700 out of 520k; last place got $25 for $20 entry. If you can't cash in that, the honest truth is you're not very good at handicapping either unless you just solely follow line movement and don't even watch the games like I do in MLB. If someone even pretends they know football and can't cash on these fantasy leagues, they have shown their hand.
It is really no different than anything else, when people lose they must find an excuse instead of being critical on why they are losing. Much easier to say "its a scam, I'm done there."
