combination probably is tired and i dont know how you get motivated with a guaranteed contract like he has. these days you cant probably count on your hand the number of pro athletes still hungry to win after they get paid.

Seems like Detroit was riding him like a borrowed mule, not sure how many innings he usually pitched, but he seemed like a 200+ guy for 5-6 years so could be wear and tear on the joints and ligaments. Not to mention it always seemed like he was putting in heavy post season work as well.
