I've always been intrigued by long hikes. By most peoples standards, I've done multiple hikes that lasted weeks and a few that lasted a month.
However, six months is another beast entirely.
One of the fringe reasons for moving to Seattle, that really didn't factor into the decision but I always hoped it might happen, is to hike the entire PCT, all 2650 miles of it. By most accounts, it would probably take anywhere between 3-5 months, depending on who is with me, weather, snake bites, bear attacks, immigrant orgies and the such. I should probably add rooster ring, condoms, valtrex and penicillin to my bag.
