Can't remember the last time college football didn't open until September? Also first NFL Sunday is basically middle of September? Wtf? Always look forward to that last week of August for some meaningful football but guess I'll have to wait another week
Why is College/NFL kicking so damn late?

#9IMO they should move football back and have it start in October.
the weather is still nice out. It just does not feel like football season yet. I think of cold weather and snow when i think of football.
No reason to have the season wrap up in January. They could extend it through February and March and that way we would have something else to watch other than basketball in Feb/March until baseball starts back again.
Its very depressing when football ends b/c its cold outside and the days are short and there is no football on tv.Comment -

#14The right answer is because Labor Day is September 7th this year, the latest it can possibly be.
