Parlays

Betting two team fave parlays in baseball can reduce the books bite a bit, however as always you need to pick your spot, Kershaw as some of you have learned at -230 or whatever is not always an auto play, most times a solid -160 fave is a better option.
If you are betting two teamers it'll behoove you to only play at a shop that allows you the open ended parlay option, many a time I have opned a two teamer on a Monday and waited until Thursday to close it out.

Discipline came for me when I accepted that that there were sports I could make money betting and other than I couldn't beat.

Not every game is bettable. Pick your spots Look for angles.

I have no desire to bet a game that I don't think I have a good angle / shot to win.

Good post man. I have been there done that. It's a constant struggle.

I think the key is to have another job on the side so that you don't have to rely 100% on your winnings from gambling.

If you are relying on you sports investing to pay all your bills then it is really easy to fall in to the trap of "gambling b/c you need to win, instead of gambling b/c you see an easy winner"

anyone noticed that baseball has become a lot more predictable lately?

The good teams are starting to do what good teams do (win) and the bad teams or the teams who have already given up on the season are just going to thru the motions and finding a way to lose.

Bear I do not gamble to live, it is a hobby. The ones that do this for a living I don't know how they are still alive. Same with poker grinding etc. Having said that, I still want to be better even if it is just a hobby, I like to make spreadsheets and crunch numbers, look through boxscores etc. The problem for me is I get distracted way too easily and I am highly prone to a tilt run. I wish I could throw that in the garbage somehow and turn into a robot.

Risk is what makes things fun though, I have used a public restroom before and have consumed milk 3 days after the expiration date. I also jumped out of planes and I have a fear of heights. I would probably also gamble on one night in Alexis Texas. I may have a problem or you could be right I need to stick to pizza points.

I would probably also gamble on one night in Alexis Texas. I may have a problem or you could be right I need to stick to pizza points.

Milk expiration date is for the store sale. Always drink expired milk if is not spoiled.

i think just gambling can be really stressful sometimes. I guess even more so when I post my picks and i gotta deal with all these ghost/troll accounts like Vegas39 and convick. I am pretty sure it's Opie and Russian Rocket.

Pavy you sound like my wife, she would still drink it as long as she doesn't see fur. I swear she is Jewish. I do the smell test and then calculate my odds of death vs reward and proceed that way. Sometimes a bowl of fruity pebbles is just too good.

Well as most of you know, I have no problems with teasers...have crushed the books doing them in all sports including football, basketball, and MLB totals!......and have posted countless winning tickets and real money wagers on this forum...of'course I'm the exception and not the rule......but what also helps me is the fact that I do indeed have discipline and don't get greedy...I'm just happy to be to the + side of the ledger and in the black and not in the red when the wagers are graded!...

When I first started betting online I turned my initial deposit of $50 into $3000+ within 3 or 4 months taking solely teasers for CFB and CBB on Bodog.. I'd only mess with the useful ones though, usually only the 13 FB/10 BB ones where it was either 3 or 4 teams to make it -110 or -120. I had a rule that I only bet on sides with the teasers, as giving a team an extra 13 or 10 points seemed a lot more useful than taking/adding those points to a total instead. Due to both teams being able to add to the total, but with a side only the team with the ball could effect it.

Any teaser where you just add a couple points, especially for basketball, is just a waste tho.

I've gotten away from them now as seeing spreads with the teased amount made betting straight games difficult but teasers can be profitable if played correctly.
