Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said Thursday he believes free agent Ray Rice is deserving of another chance.
This would indeed suggest the Browns have legitimately discussed signing Rice. Of Rice, Haslam said "I'd like to see him get another shot," but added for now the Browns are "seeing what the team's young running backs can do first." Of course he does, I don't see what the big deal is. People saw a video and just overreacted. So a crime with video footage should have a higher punishment then a crime with no video footage, makes no sense.

I say give the man a shot. Honestly he is over his prime so doubt he will be the feature back anywhere in the League but still could be a solid #2 to come off the bench in certain packages.

I don't condone his actions but at the same time it shouldn't bar him from working again.

Mike Pettine leaves door open for Browns to sign Ray Rice

Browns coach Mike Pettine once again refused to rule out signing free-agent running back Ray Rice after rookie Duke Johnson suffered a concussion Saturday night.

Pettine acknowledged the hole in his backfield during a conference call on Sunday. Depending on the severity of Johnson's injury, the Browns are open to looking into a veteran to take his roster spot.
