or would you rather have the same ole president catering to business instead?
You act as if there's some magical plan these seasoned politicians have. A secret or something? Is there a book? A secret handshake? Well, how's that working? The establishment wants suckers to believe that in order to be a great president you need to be in politics for years. Again, how's that been working?
The obstruct and blame Obama presidency has obviously created a new generation of blamers and submissives.
Give me a leader that is smart enough get things done when things change. Someone who appoints the right people to help do the job. That is what great leaders do. Because guess what .... things will change. They always do.
Tump is that guy. I doubt enough Americans are smart enough to vote for him. They rather keep pretending to believe the same politicians and their "promises" will do the job.Comment -

It's one thing to listen - but what has he ever done to this point that would indicate that he's now ready to reign in the very people that he's one of.
He speaks in vague terms of someone who is educated in business and nothing else. The idea of using troops to guard oil fields (who actually owns these again? If it's Exxon, then troops are guarding Exxon? if it's us - then we're nationalizing oil?)
Saying things like he'd bomb the oil fields, or build a wall (and get "them to pay for it") rings great with people like you who only want to hear simple answers to complex questions.
A great example is the other thread where Bwest talked about the issue of Israel having the ability to destroy the entire world if they feel threatened. These are complex issues. These can't be solved by throwing money at it or firing someone on a tv show.
Trump actually had a legitimate shot if he didn't expose himself early on as such a lightweight outside of the business realm.
You want someone who might not understand, but surrounds himself with smart people who do? You know what you get? You get GW in the corner coloring while the Cheney Cabal goes to town. Or you get Reagan consulting his astrologer while Caspar Weinberger/Ollie North set up a paramilitary operation acting illegally on our behalf.
Donald made his billions off the very system that ****** over workers here - but he's just the guy to fix it.
Classic politician move. Help drive the car into the lake, then say they have the best man to rescue the car.Comment -

Anti-choice for women and pro-poison for the environment - that's close to enough for me personally. Up there with Trump blaming the system she fully enjoyed but now magically wants to rally everyone against.

#46She said the stimulus was a failure and the answer is tax cuts. When presented with the fact about the 2/3 of it was tax cuts- she was stumped. Has said she wouldn't even engage russia or Iran. Another person who blames outsourcing on the rules (that she fought against changing when she was in industry). Wants a weaker EPA. Anti-abortion.

I'm plenty interested in opposing views. There's some posters who will actually engage in debate and present opinions that I may not agree with, but make it worth reading up on.
You however, are not. You're focused on the impending collapse (maybe rightfully so), and consider anyone else who isn't, to be stupid or a sheep or ill informed. You live in the perpetual state of prepper-porn where we're always on the verge of collapse - be it the dollar, Jade Helm or whatever conspiracy pushes the blood south of the border.

#52No need to excuse you. You're entitled to throw out insults and pretend like you have a monopoly on what is or isn't important (and how to fix it). The fact that you feel the need to tell me what I should or shouldn't focus on however, shows what kind of flawed personality you bring to the table.

#54He's not as bad as Icahn, but whether or not he was a liar is a judgement call.
He did insider trade, but got away with it because he spent millions on lawyers
who did a good job defending him. I remember him in the 90's as a brash pumper
with a temper and a talent for getting people excited when I'm sure all he was thinking
of was dumping his stock on the gullible.
Maybe pump and dump is not lying, but I don't think he's in any position to criticize
other people because the origin of his wealth is only in luck and pump/dump.
The primary way he made his money was by exaggerating the value of Broadcast.com,
which at the time of sale only had 22 million in revenues and was losing 16 million a year,
but Yahoo bought them in stock for 5.7 billion. Of course he knew it all was baloney,
all the times he talked up his Broadcast.com, and tried to get people to buy it was
nothing but a ploy to write stock and dump it on the public.
Yahoo stock lost 90% of its value in the dot com crash.
Cuban was cleared of insider trading charges.
As far as pump and dump, and selling broadcast.com--part of the role of a senior executive is to promote their company to wall street and the press. So to say he was unethical because he promoted his company is silly. And as far as the sale to yahoo, any company in ultra growth mode sells for high multiples, especially during that era, but even today the same rings true. Nothing is wrong with the deal Cuban made with yahoo--sure yahoo shit the bed with that business, but they have done that with several businesses. Broadcast.com was an innovator in streaming video online. Think that's a valuable technology? I do.Comment -

#61sure isn't, math rules the day. Stuff is universal, did you know that? I'd say since humans are flawed, math is certainly a good way to judge things.

#62I remember him. He was an AudioNet executive, they changed their name to Broadcast.com and right at the
wildest time of the internet madness they IPO'd and went up tons. Cuban pumped them up like crazy.
Yahoo used their own inflated stock to overpay for Broadcast.com - making Cuban just about a billionaire
on Yahoo stock. He hung on as much as he had to according to the law but weaseled out right before the
dot com crash. He also did some hedging but couldn't hedge against Yahoo so hedged other internet momo stocks.
Lost his hedge 100% and sold all the Yahoo stock near the top - then everyone holding those stocks got hammered.
Years later on some other issue he was charged criminally for insider trading.
Nice story but not accurate, and the difference in broadcast.com and other .com madness companies is that broadcast.com actually involved a groundbreaking technology and not just an unproven idea.Comment -
