    Question for Soccer bettors
I never bet Soccer and I know little about it so please forgive my ignorance. My question is; what is the difference between 2 1/2 and 2 3/4 when it comes to totals? Example: In today's game between Orlando City and Philadelphia some of the books have Under 2 1/2 at +118 and other books have Under 2 3/4 at -120. What is the benefit of betting 2 3/4 at -120 when you can get a far better price at 2 1/2 at +118. I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this but to me it seems like it can only land on either 2 or 3(or any other whole number). Is it possible to score a half goal in Soccer? Someone please educate me on this. Thanks.

It's a little confusing, search "asian handicap", that's what it's called. Basically if it's 2.5, it's just that, over/under 2.5. If it's 2.75, it's a little confusing. If you place a $10 bet on that, $5 will be based on it being o/u 2.5, and $5 will be based on it being 3.

2.75 line is the same as betting 50% on the 2.5 line and 50% on the 3 line.

So if the game ends 2-1 and you bet the over 2.75 line instead of the over 2.5 line you will win 50% of the bet and push the other 50%.

I still go up there for the better UFC cards. We'll have to get a Minnesota gathering up there sometime. Perhaps a Aldo vs McGregor type card... or Cyborg vs Rousey... or the return of Jon Jones. Then again... we might be waiting for years for any of those fights to ever happen. Hopefully one of them will come sooner than later. You'll have to let me know who the Minnesota posters(all sharps I assume) are these days as I don't post nearly as much as I used to.

Also if your book doesn't have Asian Handicaps you can make your own. Lets say the ML for home win is +100 and the draw is +200 and you want to play a pk line. Bet 1 unit for ML and 1/2 unit on Draw. If game is a draw you push your bets like as if you were playing AH. If you are betting Free Plays this is the way to go in soccer because most books will make you lose your free play on soccer pushes on AH whereas if you bet both ML and Draw one of the two will be a winning bet and cash.
