i could be wrong but i think the very earliest line on this game was closer to -20. like 19, 19.5, 20, something like that. it had steadily come down over the months and had gotten down to like 14 or 13 then this happened and now we're at 10 or 10.5.

i think -10 is probably a decent enough number on this one. i feel like these guys wouldn't be suspended for this game if meyer wasn't confident they could win without them. if there were any worries it would be one of those "suspended half a game" situations, or maybe even the information would be kept under wraps until after this game, then released before one of their many cupcakes on the schedule (in conference or out). i am no soothsayer but i think the line will get pushed back up closer to game time.

How the hell could you believe OSU might possibly be overlooking this game? It's the first freaking game of the year. Players at this point are just jonesin' to crack helmets of a different color. They are relishing the opportunity to play football again, no matter who it is against. Now add that to the fact that they are playing the only team that beat them last year, and you get a motivated Buckeye squad. Remember, in the old format, Ohio State wouldn't have even had a chance to earn a national title all because of an early season slip-up to Va. Tech last year. You don't think that serves as motivation?

The Hokies are severely outmatched in this game, even with the suspensions. The only thing that might keep this game close are a rash of first-game blunders by the Buckeyes, combined with some adrenaline-hyped home-cooking by the Hokies.

its called getting better. Most of these guys were under classmen and they had a lot to learn. Urban Meyer did an outstanding job teaching them how to be champions.

ohio state went from a very mediocre team to one of the best teams college football has ever witnessed before.
