This is an unprecedented trade deadline for Toronto.
Maybe any team.

There's still 90 minutes to go (EST). Phone lines are "burning up".

Revere was not pricey. Middle tier prospect is my guess

Good acquisition though.
They had Tulo hitting lead off. Now pitchers will have to face revere followed by a legitimate murderer's row.

i wouldn't move Tulo from that lead off spot if i was the manager.
He is ripping the cover off the ball. No reason to fix something that isn't broken.
Maybe put Revere in the 9 hole as a second lead off hitter.
They say they did a study on MLB teams over the course of a season and the Leadoff hitter and the #2 hitter got on average 30-40 more plate appearances than the rest of the team throughout the course of the season.
Which is why nowdays you normally see the teams best hitter batting 2nd.

THIS. Phillies fan here, and with the Jays lineup Ben Revere isn't the guy you give those extra ABs to. He has zero power and if you ever hear him talk you'll know he isn't the brightest bulb. His arm is a serious liability and EVEN WITH HIS SPEED I believe Pillar to be the better defensive option for the Jays.
. NOW WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID the Jays picked up a real player here and I love the move for them. He gives them a much needed threat on the bases, and Ben plays his heart out everyday he is on the field. Always gives 100%. This may lol like a linear move with Pillar having an alright season, but this is a move that could payoff huge for them in September.
Revere wasn't a part of our Phillie future so I'm okay with this. Probably get like one or two middle tier prospects in return. I think he best be suited hitting before Tulo but I also dont think he should be hitting leadoff. Hit him 5-6 at first, he'll struggle them move him to 9th. They will most likely hit him 1st and I think he'll end up somewhere else in the lineup shortly after.

He doesn't really walk enough to be a lead off guy and his arm is trash. He might do ok with the line up in Toronto.

hes played like three games. Tulo leading off is not smart baseball. Sometimes the things you say i question if they are legit or youre just looking to get responses because this one is stupid

fukk off
i have forgotten more baseball then you will ever know.
putting him in the leadoff spot gets the Jays best hitter the maximum plate appearances.
they got Donaldson, Joey Bats and Encarnacion hitting 2-3-4
the fact that Tulo is hitting lead off will actually help Tulo hit for a higher average bc he will see more quality pitches to hit and he won't be trying to do too much as a lead off man
