You mean as opposed to those lucky ones that get to live their lives in barrios and favelas around Central and South America? Cuban citizens have access to pretty high standard health care and education, nobody starves in Cuba, nobody has to sell their body for basic needs. Crime rates are low, Cuba punches above its weight in international events like the Olympics. And all that despite a decades long bigot embargo and the loss of Sovjet support since 1989.
Yeah, Cuban citizens don't have the same freedom as their Mexican, Brazilian and El Salvadorian counterparts. They're not any worse off for it, they just don't realize it. With the beneficial influence of the great US of A soon to be restored, drugs and gangs will enter, state provided health care and education will vanish, the top 5% will live like gods and the bottom 95% will rot in slums like the rest of the continent. Thank god for freedom.
