10,000 dollars? - I would maybe upgrade on my laptop and television, repair my van, take my girlfriend and our son out to our favorite restaurant, maybe buy my girlfriend a piece of affordable jewelry because she's bi-polar and needs that secure feeling, stock up on all toddler needs for my almost 20 month old son and buy him some toys, play a couple of big gpp tournaments in fantasy league sports, and save the rest in case of emergency. (rent,etc) Maybe save up for Disney World and a trip to Florida. There would still be plenty of money left over.

Nowadays, times are tough in the world and people who are qualified for jobs, aren't getting them.Sometimes you hit low points in life and realize that just being able to go out and eat something is a luxury.

I'm at the point where reality has kicked in and I have to be careful in what I do. That said, I'm not going to die sitting on money unless it solely goes to my 20 month old. The girlfriend and her son are stressful. When you have that first kid so late in life and there really is nobody else in the form of relatives, you live through your kid and want him to have an easier life than the one that you had.

People appreciated things more in the 70's and being brought up as a kid was tougher. Parents hit you and there were no bully rules. Even sports; the rules have gotten easier for kids nowadays (they have to get a hit). Kids now, are more spoiled and feel entitled. I don't like that. I want my kid to earn what he gets. He'll love himself more,but dad will always have his back. You feel me?

$10,000 is nothing? Not true at all. You should appreciate what you have and just because you have more than others, don't take it for granted. There have been times where I've had high 6 figures and there have been times where I've been looking for change in my car. 10K is a building block and can be used in a productive manner.
