local offering me even money on any 2 teams to win NL pennant
I can pick any 2 teams to win it and at even money this looks like a good bet. Guy is letting me bet o credit and I won't have to put up the money till beginnin of september. I have known the guy for quite a while so getting paid is not an issue Considering going with the Nationals and Cardinals. Should I take him up on the offer and any chance the dodgers somehow sneak in?

Nats and Dodgers, especially when Dodgers pick up Cueto by next week.

Okay after giving it some thought....

your bookie is smart. This year the NL is totally wide open. Its anyones game.

I would go with Pirates and Nationals as my 2 teams. I think Cole and Scherezer are the 2

Why would you do that? All teams are above +300 so by putting 1 unit on 2 teams you're getting better than even money overall, no matter which 2 teams you pick especially if one of the teams is not among the 3 faves.

Hell no don't take the Nats, what have they ever done but overachieve in the regular season and choke in the playoffs...can never go wrong with Cards...they'd be my number 1, I could see the pirates finally breaking through this year too. Gl in your choices, dodgers are chokers too, terrible BP, can't trust them.

Look at matchups first. Cardinals in NL win lead by 6 games and 2nd best record is Pirates. Dodgers and Nats are in division lead and similar records.

                              My guess
                              1.Cards
                              2.Nats
                              3.Dodgers
                              4. Pirates
                              5.Cubs/Mets

                              Nats vs Dodgers

                              (Cards) a must take
coin toss between Nats/Dodgers for other team

Giants or Cardinals. If the Cardinals face anyone but the Giants in the NLCS they will advance to the world series.

Anyone who tells you to take the dodgers or nats simply doesn't know baseball.

Make a case for why Nats shouldn't be taken.

                                  Scherzer/Gio/Zimmermann a solid 3 man rotation

also, dodgers could also be similar if not better if they land Hamels/Cueto

                                  pitching wins titles

Exactly. I never understood why people ask these questions when its fairly easy to determine whether a bet is profitable by comparing it to the odd in an open market of bookmakers who in this case are willing to take essentially the same bet at a better price.

If you are getting even money, then just take the 2 teams that the books have the highest odds to win. Let them do the capping, not recreational betters.

Cards and Nats/Pirates There's something that stinks about the Dodgers. They don't like Puig and Puig acts like an a-hole.
Too much tension and divide in that locker room and they are bound to crash and burn

Yea, the math just isn't there on this one. If you bet $100 at even with 2 teams you can win $100 or lose $100.

If you bet $50 on both the cards and the nats at 7/2 at a book you can win $125 or lose $100. Definitely losing value going through the local.

I dont want to have my money tied up. Im gonna put a fairly large sum on this and local will allow me to pay in september. I have known the guy for a while and I know he will pay.

He is basically stealing value from you. A horrible offer, freaking books are all the same!
