If he can win a title, then with the cap explosion next year, he'll get some nice offers. It makes for a great story and might give him a leg up for a cushy commentator gig when he retires. The atmosphere in Indiana was getting worse, must be bad when you're willing to walk from $12M. The guy is also near the end of his career and tired of losing. Athletes always talk about wanting to win, he's putting his money where his mouth is and showing he's serious about it.

In all fairness 4 of their top 6 players do not have too much left in the tank.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are able to grab some major talent in FAs a few years from now when Dunc/park/ginob/west are all retired.

Spurs probably still won't win. They aren't even that good. Parker and manu are washed up. West is decent. Aldridge plays zero defence and it won't mesh out with the rotation.
