Dumbest move ever.

If he has a good season he leaves in free agency next summer.

If he has a bad season they suck again and Cousins demands a trade during the season.

If they wanted to take a gamble on him they should have signed him for 3 years at least to reap the benefits if he does well. Of course it can backfire and you're stuck with a bad contract but at least doing that would have some upside. There is basically zero upside in what they did.
