LA reallly is a shithole.

Unless you can live in a beachfront town (Malibu, Santa Monica, etc) and not have to commute anywhere. Stay home watch espn and d*ck your wife and enjoy the beach all within a 10 miles radius, it's great.

Umami burger in hollywood is legit. For history go to philipes on alameda across the street from union station. Been doing sandwiches for almost 100 years and still the best around. Tbh Barney's beanery is a cool place for the history of who used to party there but the food sucks and the crowd is usually a bunch of insufferable hipster toolboxes. Unless you really care about seeing where Janis Joplin would hang out or Jim Morrisons table I would skip it.
