The reason the Phils suck is they have the worst draft results over the past 10 year of any team in baseball even when you take into consideration that they haven't been afforded the luxury of high draft picks during most of those years. The FA signings, extending contracts, unfortunate injuries to key players or somewhat unexpected quick declines of some older players is not the problem. It's just poor drafting.

no idea Cliff Lee would get hurt , he has never had a history of injury

But the point of this thread is they are on fire right now

if you can score 20 runs in 2 days against Wacha and Pineda you can do it against ANYONE.

Look for them to run CC by the 3rd inning

Winning 2 in a row, and 3 of your last 10 is not being on fire. When you're 25-47 its just a blip on a screen that is mostly flat lined.

As a die hard Phillies fan I wish they had a chance, but they don't. Last month when they rattled off 7-8 wins in a row, they werent as badly buried as now, and still none of the fans though they could make a run. Their pitching is just too poor. They have some decent young bats, but when your pitching is as bad as there's is, you don't have a chance to make the playoffs.

I will tell you what though, I'm on them BIG today. Nova making his first start of season after getting knocked around his last start in the minors. Cole coming off an excellent game. He hasn't been as consistent this year, but I look at today as an audition for him. The Bluejays expressed interest in him earlier in the season but he wouldn't waive his no trade clause for them. If the Yankees need an ace later this season Cole will definitely be high up on their list to acquire. Also Chase Utley isn't in the lineup today, so that's also good.
