It's his only chance if he ever wants to win another finals. If Kerr coached the Cavs and Blatt and or other coached the Warriors the Cavs would've won with the same roster. PJ is the only coach that could take Lebron where he wants to go.

Greg Popovich led them to the greatest turnaround in their history from 96-97 to the 97-98 season IIRC, not the Admiral. Admiral was an aging vet by the time they finally won it.
Popovich had no real pedigree either. Neither did Kerr. Doesn't matter sometimes.
I've brought this up a lot before. I think most of you fall in love with player's abilities too much. If you don't put them in the right system with a smart coach, it's really hard to get rings.
Bulls got good with Jordan, but plateaued under Doug Collins. Phil Came in, and it was ring city within a few years.
Robinson made SA better, but they never went to the Finals with him there.........until Pop came in.
Look at Durant. As talented as it gets, with unfair physical attributes, but he can only go so far with Scotty Brooks, who has not been a great coach by any stretch.
Great Coaches make their superstars great, and vice versa. But coaches aren't on posters and get big shoe deals, so most fans don't see how important they are. This is why fans fall in love with players too much IMO. You see the dunks, the commercials, the swagger, and you get big hearts in your eyes and boners in your pants. Jordan and Kobe have 0 rings without Phil. If they were so great, it shouldn't have mattered.
You need the right combo of player/coach. It's a must.
LBJ is the exception. He's so good, he can win a ring with a mannequin as a coach if he has even mediocre talent around him.Comment
