#9207We finally have a chance to elect a president who is not a career politician and the country seems to be OK with the status quo of continuing to elect career politicians and expecting a different result.Originally posted by MoneyLineDawgIt's a double edged sword though....It takes someone with the charisma and "popularity" of Trump to have even a shot at winning it all as an outsider. There are plenty of brilliant people that would do what's best for America over all else but they will never be in a position that Trump is in
I admit I don't love everything Trump says but I feel like a lot of his stuff is exaggerated and drags on and on by the media and people that don't like him anyway
Hes a smart guy who will align himself with smart people....I am willing to take a chance on him for the greater good of this country and the future of politics in this country....If it takes a guy like Trump to do that then so be it.Comment -

#9211All wedge issues(gay marriage, abortion, etc.) are designed to create the illusion of choice between the political parties and their candidates, and hide the truth that there is a single uniparty in Washington. Republican and Democrat is a false choice the NWO globalists want us to believe, but in reality, it's a facade to give the illusion of choice and cover up the single party system that operates the largest money laundering scheme in world history known as the US Treasury and Federal Reserve.Originally posted by MoneyLineDawgI agree something like abortion is a distraction but Trump needs to not play into the talking heads....Just have one normal stance on shit like abortion so they don't have ammoComment -

#9212"Not a career politician" is not a qualification to be President. It would be nice to elect someone who's not a career politician, but that doesn't mean we should elect one just because he's there. When will you and others come to the conclusion that the fantasy of Trump, on paper, is so much better than the reality, which is depressing, unfit and not realistic. Is it better to accept this now than in October?Comment -

#9215That would be good in theory. But the truth is that Trump is ruining that different approach for the next guy who might actually be a good fit as a different approach. #9216Why because he chits on Rosie O'donnell from time to time?Originally posted by d2betsThere's no need for a "they." Just listen directly to Trump's own words. Guy has no clue and is making shit up as he goes. Listen, I get the impulse to support someone who is not a politician and who isn't taking big money, that's all well and good and in the right person could be a good combination. Donald Trump is not that person. You'd probably be a better candidate.Comment -

#9219Normally I agree, but if it's Trump vs. Hillary, who the hell knows. If he plays his cards right and gets into the debate and is the one alternative -- none of the above could make serious noise and maybe even win. His views are unusually mainstream in a lot of ways. Lots of Americans are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. If it's Trump vs. Hillary, I would definitely keep an eye on some sort of strong 3rd party run.Originally posted by MoneyLineDawgHillary and Cruz are such horrible choices that I am willing to roll the dice on Trump....Who knows if the reality is anything close to the fantasy? #9220you know nobody knows what Trump would do as president. the sad thing is he doesn't know himself. just observe how he answers questions concerning political issues. it is obvious except to the very misinformed and stupid that he did not prepare and doesn't have a valid opinion on almost every question. so how can one determine what his views will be if elected? you can't. his main political beliefs all his life were left of center on almost everything. I just heard an interview he gave about abortion rights years ago, pro abortion. so who the fck knows, he says some really crazy shit but he believes so little of what he says. it is like my opinion about most politicians...words mean nothing.
however, I think it is a moot point. if you look at his unfavorable numbers tell me how he could win a general election. having expressed that fact you must also realize that a seemingly large number of D's in swing states are reregistering as R's. according to news reports that is happening and must be considered however most of these voters are white older males.
this is a strange, very strange election cycle. most pundits and most individuals have been wrong about everything. any prediction is a valid on any given day. gun to my head deal I can't see him winning. however, I will wait until Nate S tosses his ideas into the debate and go along with him.Comment -

#9221Incidentally, when they did a 3-way poll with Gary Johnson recently he polled at 11%. And that is before anyone has really ever heard of him. If he gets coverage and gets in the debates, he could get a huge part of the vote. Neither of the above would be very attractive for a lot of people.

I think it's likely going to convention and if so I just don't see Trump emerging as nominee. So yeah, Ryan could emerge and there's been some betting interest in him of late. All this effort to defeat him is and has always been based on a contested convention. Very hard to predict.Comment -

#9237Trump is simply playing up to the Republican fan base and Republican party in an attempt to win the Rep Nomination.. This is what we are seeing from Trump and that is why he is tripping over his words. He has to take the hard line stances on abortion, gay mariage, gun laws, etc.. to please the Republican fan base..
I have a good idea of what Trump is really like as a person and I don't believe he thinks along these hard lines and I expect him to change his tune when running against Hillary...
He just needs to get past the Republican Nominee fase and play the part and then we will see the real Donald Trump shine against Hillary.. The guy has been in the entertainment business forever, lived in Liberal States like New York, etc.. Befriended Libs and Dems his entire life..Comment -
