If he doesn't get 1237 he will get close enough to where he would be the only candidate to have any shot at the nomination. Not saying he can win it but it would be detrimental to the GOP in general if they nominate anyone else if one of the candidates has over 90% of the required delegates and the next best has 70% or less. It would be a complete injustice to the people who voted.

Makes perfect sense. Nobody else is going to be nominee without contested convention. So this gap recognizes that there is a chance, albeit a very slight one, that Trump will emerge nominee from contested convention. The odds though make it clear that the chance of that is low.

Really? If he is roughly 66.7% to be the nominee and there is only 40% chance at no contested convention trump wins basically that whole 40% that means that trump has a 27/60 or 45% chance to win if contested convention right?

For sure. My gut is Trump is better than 45% to win a brokered convention being that he will be so close to the delegates needed. So I guess I'm saying that I like Trump -200 to win nomination, -150 on a brokered convention or some combination of both.

I think dbets was thinking in terms of the difference between -200 and -150 as apposed to -200 and +150. I disagree with dbets on this election but he is a smart guy in general.

In 2008, an unknown black man comes out of nowhere to win the nomination and presidency.

The Repubs are so pissed, they started the voter ID laws and everything under the sun to minimize minority
voting and lean districts in their favor. 2012 comes along and they again get their asses kicked.

Instead of changing their stance, they knive behind the peoples backs.

Fast forward to today and we had/ have the sorriest lineup of presidential hopefuls ever and the only stand out
is a pompous belligerent billionaire whose only plan is to make it great again. Great like when?

Instead of getting behind this guy, they, like they do in congress, will attack their own.

Can't wait to see what the next few months will bring.
