That's probably true to some extent. But saying we need to abolish these type of agreements is throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

America, being the major power broker in most of them, would surely be hurt more than most if they suddenly did not exist.

It sounds good to say he is going to abolish these things and make America great again by doing it, but reality is he likely knows it's not a good idea and probably thinks he can rely on saying it is legally impossible to escape them if/when he ever has to justify the promise in the future.
