mathis was absent from OTA's bc of a contract dispute, so chip got rid of him.

i like it, it makes players accountable for themselves.

Another strong move by Kelly. Mathis has been great, but at age 33 it doesn't take much to get cut anymore.

another questionable move by chip. eagles really arent in any position to be dumping linemen. First Herremans and now mathis. They have no depth on that line that is going to be relied upon to protect a brittle bradford and the stable of injury proned RBs. Now they get to do that without either of their guards from last year. Mathis may have been old and wanting a new deal but he was still an above avg guard and was not likely to be a distraction in the locker room. Soon, no one will want to play for kelly because if you have any sort of outspoken character or do anything he doesnt like you wont have a job. lets see how many good players will want to come to philly.

like to see the seahawks snatch up mathis. he still grades as one of the top guards in the game. don't think they can afford a 5 mil/year guard though.

You need young guys in the NFL at all positions but quarterback and sometimes you can get away with an older guy at wide receiver

I love how all these guys think they know more than Chip Kelly all of a sudden. Quit being Scrooge and at least be open minded enough to realize he might have figured out way more about the NFL than anyone else given its total change in rules and management.

Went to school with Alexander from 10 yrs ago on that team.. We have no idea the pain and punishment those guys endure.. This is a business.. What have you done for me lately? Close to line men's tenure gonna be shorter than your RBs tenure.. Hope he retires so he can enjoy life...
