How do baseball players get hurt so much?

Pitchers with arm injuries I understand but these other schlubs who stand around 99% of the time, I don't get it. Guys like Ellsbury have an extended stay vacation on the DL every year.

list of guys hurt too long to list. Always tweaking this or pulling that. What the hell

2. No off days for body to recover.
3. Having a season that is 9 months long.
4. Alternating playing with sitting on bench every inning.
5. Eating and horsing around every inning when not playing.
